Short Detours

Another month long cultural and community event is scheduled this November in LA TRINIDAD, Benguet, in celebration of the Province's 112th Foundation Day dubbed as Adivay Festival. Adivay is an Ibaloi term meaning coming together. This year's theme “Accelerating Response to Social Challenges,” kicked off on November 8 through an ecumenical service and a press conference at the Ben Palispis Hall of the provincial capitol. Governor Fongwan highlighted the events that are to follow at the press conference which was followed by media presentation of the Miss Benguet candidates where journalists voted for the darling of the press. The main event will be on November 23, the foundation day itself, which was declared a special non-working holiday in the province by virtue of Proclamation No. 485.
